Mission Trip Omaha, Nebraska / Iowa

With all the recent flooding in the Midwest, many people have been displaced and their homes have been rendered uninhabitable. Bethel is planning to take a group of volunteers to the Omaha Nebraska / Iowa area to be a blessing to some folks and their homes. We are working in conjunction with a couple of LCMC churches in that area to tear out water damaged parts of homes so they can be prepped for fixing and restoration. All hands are welcome as there will be tasks suited for all levels of ability.

Pastor John is the point of contact for this ministry opportunity.

Lutheran Family Services – Back to School Backpack; Supply Drive

"It's that time of the year again, kids are headed back to school. You can be a big part of putting smiles on foster and refugee children's faces by providing much needed backpacks and school supplies. Look for the yellow school bus in the narthex along with a supply list. God bless you for your generosity!!!"

Bethel Putting Faith into Action - Refugee Drive

We have all seen and heard about the challenges and opportunities with refugee children and families at our borders. We have a Bethel member who will be driving down to these areas of Texas and sharing supplies that we are collecting. At the McAllen, Texas site, here’s how we can help: Children’s books (bilingual if possible), picture books, puzzles less than 500 pieces and soccer balls.

The other sites at the shelter in El Paso need: travel bags, hygiene products, non-perishable food products, such as bars, fruit juices, diapers and new underwear.

Sometimes it feels like we cannot make a difference, but we can with God’s help and heartfelt commitment and plan of action. Let’s join together to be the church in action with our brothers and sisters in Christ who are trying to provide a quality of life for their children just as we desire for our families.

We will set up an area to collect these items by the signup clipboards in the narthex.

Thank you for partnering in living out the freedom we have in Christ and living out the Good News Gospel message for all people!
