The Say What? Truck in the past month has been utilized by Mercy's Gate in picking up and delivering furniture from Compassion International. It was also used for the Cases of Love fundraiser last month in collecting donations from Pikes Peak YMCAs to help provide suitcases, duffle bags and hygiene items for children in foster care. On May 12th the truck will be used by CASA of the Pikes Peak Region to gather items for their annual rummage sale. The truck continues to be used by Because We Choose To each month as well.
Thank you to all who supported Mercy’s Gate and Bethel’s joint ministry in providing 28 Thanksgiving Meal Baskets during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Bethel hosted the families with a light continental breakfast, fellowship, and prayer. A big Thank You to Sue Jenkins for the delicious food and drink provided for the breakfast, and the Stephen Ministers who were available with a listening ear and prayer. The families were very thankful and asked that we pass on their gratefulness to all at Bethel Lutheran.
On Saturday, November 17, from 9:00 to 11:00am Bethel distributed 28 Thanksgiving Meal Baskets. Pastor John distributed 4 meal baskets to Bethel Members. There were 3 Stephen Ministers on hand to offer prayers with the families. A big Thank You to: Sue Jenkins, Sara Wulfsberg, Alice Magnone, Margaret Curnow for providing delicious homemade treats and setting up the beautiful Thanksgiving Table. Ernie St. Gelais and Kevin Magnone for helping to distribute the meal baskets. Denise Dreary who requested and received a Thrivent amount for $250.00, and purchased milk, juice, yogurt, and small boxed breakfast cereal with the Thrivent gift card. I have placed Thank You notes from Outreach in their church boxes. It was a great success as the families stayed much longer than we expected each were so thankful, wanting to enjoy the breakfast items, fellowship with Bethel members, and prayer with Stephen Ministers. Praise God!
