Military BibleSticks: After hearing so many stories from deployed service members and veterans alike, one thing is abundantly clear: Bethel and other churches are really making a difference! Over one million service members and veterans have received God’s Word on the Military BibleStick thus far. With around 180,000 men and women entering and leaving the service every year, the need for God’s Word among their ranks is constant. The requests for more BibleSticks keep coming! During the month of July, Bethel is accepting donations to provide our military with BibleSticks. Each unit costs $25. You may make checks payable to Bethel with “Military BibleStick” in the memo line or go to www.bethellutheran.net and click on Donate/Pay—Direct Link to donate online. Thanks for your support as all July donations will be doubled by an anonymous donor!

Another site at the shelters in El Paso need: travel bags, hygiene products, non-perishable food products (bars, fruit juices, diapers & new underwear). Please join together in helping to provide a quality of life for God’s children in these areas by bringing items listed above to Bethel and placing them under the clipboard sign-up area (items may be placed under the table with a note that reads “Texas”). Bethel will be collecting these items at least through Sunday, August 4. Thank you for partnering in living out the freedom we have in Christ & living out the Good News Gospel message for all people!

Mercy’s Gate Fundraiser: Bethel’s Gallery Director & recognized Fine Art Photographer, Eric Wulfsberg, has been cleaning out his “photographer’s closet” and he has donated a number of mounted & unmounted photographs to Bethel to raise money for Bethel’s outreach Ministry to Mercy’s Gate. Mercy’s Gate is a Colorado Springs Food Bank & Rent Assistance Ministry that helps people avoid homelessness. The images will be on display for purchase in the Bethel library during the fellowship time after the 9:15 am Sunday services on August 18th & August 25th. The images are available for a donation to Bethel’s Mercy’s Gate Outreach Ministry and suggested donations range from $10 for unmounted small prints to $60 for mounted & prize-winning images with all the proceeds going to Mercy’s Gate. Many of the pictures are award winning photographs from local and regional Art & Photography Competitions. Official brochures are available in the narthex sign up area and $1,000 deposits per person are being accepted with the registration right now.
