It will be Bethel’s ‘Lent 3’ service and will be followed by services on April 3 & 10; all services begin at 7:00 PM at Bethel. Believe Preaching Series: On March 23 & 24, during the sermon time, we will be looking at chapter 22 of the Believe book. Please read chapter 23 for next weekend’s services. A Sunday morning class on the Believe book is ongoing each Sunday at 9:15am in the Faith Forum.
New Member Classes: Bethel’s next New Member class will take place on Sunday, April 14 & 28 during the 9:15am Sunday School hour in Pastor John’s office. Every new member is asked to attend one of these classes and the final orientation which will take place at the New Member Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, May 4 at 6:30pm downstairs in the Christ Center. The joining weekend will be at whichever service you normally attend the weekend of May 4 & 5. Seder Supper: On Sunday, April 14 at 4:30 PM at Bethel, come and learn how the Jewish Passover speaks to Christians today! The Passover has been and still is the most important celebration of the year for the Jews. Bethel will host a service and dinner on April 14. Sign up for tickets are available now at www.bethellutheran.net under the “Donate/Pay” tab follow the ‘direct link’. Prices are as follows: Families—$25, Couples—$15, Singles (12-adult) - $10, Children (6-11) - $5, Children under 6—Free. Childcare will be provided for this event.
Easter Candy Donations Needed: We are in need of donations of individually wrapped candies or small party favor toys (just needs to be able to fit inside an Easter Egg) for our annual children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, April 21st at 10:00 AM. Donations can be placed in the Easter Egg Donation Bin at Kidtricity on Sunday mornings or by the sign up board “clip board” area in the Welcome Center upstairs.
‘Ultimate’ Thank You from the youth and parents to all who participated in the Youth Garage sale on March 9 by giving items to sell, giving your time to help collect, set up, sell & clean up, buying items and providing trucks & trailers to haul the remains to the donation centers. May God bless you all and repay a hundred fold that which you spent on us! The proceeds went towards the youth mission trips coming up this summer. We raised over $1,600—Praise the Lord!
New Program for Parents from the Youth Ministry Team: It's a go! Once a month on the 1st Saturday of each month beginning April 6 from 9:00-11:00 AM, Bethel’s youth ministry will launch a yearlong, 2-hour monthly PEP Rally (Parenting, Equipping, and Processing Rally) to serve the parents of Bethel (or Bethel visitors). The plan is to watch one expert interview where the speakers are respected and well know. The speakers range from pastors, researchers, doctors, culture experts, educators, artists and more. Please join us on Saturday, April 6 as we kick off this exciting program—parents with kids of all ages are welcome! (Other dates for PEP are May 4, June 1, July 6, Aug 3, Sep 7, Oct 5, Nov 2 and Dec 7.)
Pancake Breakfast on Easter Sunday: The youth of Bethel would like to invite Bethel members & guests to participate in their annual Pancake Breakfast on Easter Sunday—April 21. Please mark your calendars! We look forward to serving you. Donation will go towards the 2019 youth mission trip expenses.
Bethel Art Gallery: A new ’show’ is displayed in the Bethel Art Gallery in the narthex area. Travel Opportunity: The Bethel travel group is planning a trip to Australia/New Zealand on March 9-27, 2020. It seems like a long way off, but since this is an international cruise open to the world, we can only promote it for a few months in 2019 and then the cruise line takes over and our group cabins are no longer available. Official brochures are available in the narthex sign up area and $1,000 deposits per person are being accepted with the registration right now. Since there has been a lot of interest in this trip, you are encouraged to sign up soon if you are interested, so as to hold a spot on the trip. The registrations are based on two to a cabin with no single cabins available, but we are happy to try our best to match people with a cabin mate. Please direct all questions to Pastor John and let him know of your interest in the trip. A signup sheet is located in the narthex sign up area. We have 3 cabins left.

$$ NOISY CHANGE OFFERING $$ - This year's Lenten Noisy Change Offering will be donated to Heart-In-Home, the newest program of Family Promise designed to prevent and divert family homelessness. It only takes $868 to keep a family from becoming homeless! This is a small amount compared to the emotional cost of moving, changing schools, finding housing, etc. Coin collection boxes are available in the narthex area. Noisy change and quiet greenbacks are welcome!
Mercy's Gate Thursday Ministry: Are you looking for an opportunity to serve our community but do not have a lot of time to give? This is the ministry for you! Bethel’s Mercy's Gate Thursday Ministry makes and serves breakfast and lunch to low income families at Mercy's Gate on the last Thursday of each month. The next service day for Mercy’s Gate Thursday Ministry (MGTM) is March 28. People are always needed to prepare the meals at Bethel and others may serve at Mercy's Gate that day. The Air Force Needs YOU! The Prater family hosts a cadet at the Air Force Academy and his parents are helping with the inaugural DMV State Night at the US Air Force Academy on April 24, 2019. This event is designed to inspire pride and sharing between the cadets about their home states of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. The evening will include a meal and speakers. The group is looking for people to provide cookies and bars for dessert along with people to help with the evening event (set up, serving, etc.) If you would like to help out, please contact April Prater. Bethel’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt: On Easter Sunday, April 21st beginning at 10:00 AM in front of the Faith Forum, all children are invited to hunt down some eggs with Bethel’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. Younger children (0-5) will hunt in the Faith Forum and older children will hunt outside (weather permitting). There is no cost to participate! Help us fill the eggs by donating candy to the collection boxes at Kidtricity or in the narthex area (individually wrapped candy or small toys that fit within a plastic egg will be accepted).
Kidtricity Easter Program: On Sunday, April 28th at the 10:30 AM service, join Bethel’s Kidtricity team and Kidtricity kids as we present a special Easter program in place of the sermon.

COLLEGE KIDS CORRESPONDENCE: CKC is Bethel’s ministry opportunity created to support our out-of-town college students. It is a weekly “card shower” and each week a name and address of our Bethel college “Student of the Week” will be provided. Simply send these Bethel family members “best wishes” or “keep up the good work” words of encouragement, add a stamp and drop it in the mail.
