What Are 'Blogs' and How isBethel Using Them?

Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual although some focus on photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting), and are part of a wider network of social media.

The term "blog" is a portmanteau, or, in other words, a blend of the words web and log (Web log). "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Bethel is using blogs to publish various items for our members.  These include sermons, special musical events, and several newsletters.

There are three ways that members can access our blogs.

You may access them directly on the web at:

They may subscribe to be notified by e-mail whenever a change has been made.

These e-mails are generated each night for any additions the day before and are available to anyone that has registered for them using the following process.

If you would like to be notified by e-mail when a new item has been posted you may go to the following location

http://www.feedblitz.com/

Then enter one of the following links at the 'Start Now...' area at the bottom of the page and click on 'Subscribe.'

You will then be asked to enter your e-mail address and finish the subscription process.

As additional blogs are created they will be listed on the previous page and can be accessed in a similar way.

If you would like to be notified for multiple items just repeat the above process for each desired feed.

They may subscribe using 'pod catcher' software such as iTunes or certain web browsers.

Questions, comments, or suggestions regarding Bethel's use of blogs can be addressed to the Bethel Technology Team.
