Bethel's Worship Teams praises God and share the gospel through a music ministry that enhances the Bethel worship experience.

 

Job Description:       Contemporary Worship Team(s) Leader
                                 Bethel Lutheran Church                              

Objective of Position
The Contemporary Worship Team(s) Leader will plan for and, coordinate the musical elements of worship for Bethel's weekly contemporary service and special services as required. This position will support the worship ministry by coordinating with church staff and worship team members so that worshippers experience the Lord's presence through God-focused, Christ-centered music during worship. This position will require working approximately 10 hours per week, but not to exceed 15 hours per week.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Lead worship volunteers in prayer and devotion before rehearsals and worship services
2. Serve as team leader of our contemporary worship teams. Participation on the team(s) is desirable.

3. Recruit, mentor, guide, and minister to all volunteers within the worship teams. 

4. Provide input regarding the planning of worship services related to themes as chosen by the Senior Pastor
5. Prepare for and coordinate team rehearsals as required.

6. Coordinate participation in Bethel's contemporary worship services.

7. Coordinate Worship Team sound and video needs with the technology teams

8. Develop, maintain and adhere to the Worship Team Leader's Checklist. 

Accountability:  Worship and Music Chairperson

Education/Experience:
Minimum Requirement: High school diploma and two (2) years of leadership in areas of contemporary worship and music or related experience.

Preferred Requirement: Music degree or other formal training plus 3 or more years of proven leadership in areas of contemporary worship music.

Qualifications:

1.  Must have a servant heart and an exceptional love for the Lord and  ways to give Him praise through music.

2.  Demonstrated strong leadership skills and experience in contemporary worship and its music ministry.

3.  Demonstrated skill at selecting or creating appropriate worship music.
4.  Proven administrative and communication skills.
5.  Ability to display a Christ-centered heart when ministering to both worshipers and the worship teams.
6.  Ability to be proactive in encouraging volunteers to commit to their responsibilities.

7.  Willingness to participate in and support long term church planning related to music and worship.
